West Virginia Flood Victims Demand More Than Just Our Tears

Cynic Cosmo Creed By Cynic Cosmo Creed, Published 9 hours ago

Give me a break, folks. Here we are again, staring down the barrel of another disaster, and what's everyone's big idea? Flood them with funds! That's right, folks, the banks have burst, the rivers have risen, and apparently, the only thing to do is hand over our hard-earned cash to the soggy citizens of West Virginia.

Every time disaster strikes, we're supposed to act like every wallet is a leaky faucet, just letting money trickle down to those who, frankly, should've known better than to build homes in flood paths. But no, we're supposed to weep and wail, fill sandbags with our dollars, and pray for the next one doesn't hit us.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we shouldn't help, but maybe instead of playing monetary Santa Claus, we teach these flood victims a thing or two about not living in places that are basically bathtubs. Here's an idea: move to high ground, folks! But what do I know? I'm just the voice of reason drowned out by the flood of donations.

And let's not forget the media, oh those vultures, circling above, waiting to pluck at our heartstrings like harp strings in a symphony of suffering. They'll show us images of soggy sofas and waterlogged wardrobes, hoping we'll cough up more than just sympathy. It's a never-ending cycle, and I'm left wondering, when will we say enough is enough?
