Ah, North Carolina, how you've wronged the great and infallible leader, Donald J. Trump. By simply not double-checking the Social Security numbers of a handful of voters, you've plunged the entire nation into chaos. The audacity!
Of course, what Trump probably meant to say was that his supporters found themselves accidentally registered under 'Fido the Dog' or 'Unclaimed Lawn Flamingo'. It's an error so egregious, so cataclysmic, that the Department of Justice had to leap into action faster than Melania at the mention of her prenup.
Now, you'd think the Trump administration has more pressing issues than the SSN's of a few folks who might have missed filling in their birth year as 1937 instead of 1973. But no, this is the hill they're choosing to die on, in true melodramatic fashion. Because if there's one thing this administration excels at, it's the art of the distraction, akin to a magician pulling a 'not-my-problem' rabbit out of their impeachment hat.
