Disney Declares 'The View' Hosts Must Cease and Desist from Trashing Trump

Egads, one might imagine 'The View' hosts as the intellectual titans of our time, crafting thoughtful political discourse while sipping Earl Grey, but alas, their company overlords have intervened with the grace of a thousand elephants in a china shop. Bob Iger, a man whose title is so long it requires a separate email signature, and Almin Karamehmedovic, the ABC News grand poobah, have issued a decree most dire: tone down the Trump takedowns.
One shudders at the thought of these sophisticated ladies being asked to refrain from their constitutional right to relentless mockery. Have they not the freedom to spew their acerbic wit, to dissect the political sphere with all the finesse of a chainsaw through a wedding cake? It seems the corporate custodians of taste have deemed their chatterbox cacophony too much for the fragile ears of America.
But fear not, for surely their morning palaver will still be as lively as a funeral wake. Surely, they will pivot to discuss pressing matters such as the latest shade of lip gloss or the geopolitical implications of a celebrity's dog's new haircut. One can only hope the audience won't notice the strategic withdrawal from the battlefield of political commentary, nor the irony of their 'free speech' being curtailed by the very network that peddles it to the masses.
