Lee Jae-myung, South Korea's New President: Democracy or Just Another Chaebol Puppet?

Oh, South Korea, you've done it again, haven't you? Elected a man who probably got his campaign funds from the same piggy bank his predecessor used to declare martial law. Democracy is a sham, folks, or at least it seems when you can buy your way to the top.

Lee Jae-myung, the savior of the proletariat, the champion of the common man, has now donned the presidential sash. You'd think after the last fiasco of a president that the nation would be wary of these power-hungry puppets. But no, here we are, back in the comfort of another chaebol's embrace.

And let's not forget his 'brief' flirtation with martial law. I mean, who among us hasn't wanted to put on a military uniform and play dictator for a day? It's just a little political foreplay, right? But it's okay, because democracy isn't about the will of the people; it's about who can bluff their way into the Blue House with the best smile and a briefcase full of 'donations.'

So here's to Lee Jae-myung, our new puppet president, may his strings be pulled with precision and may his puppeteers never run out of funds. South Korea, you've shown the world once again, that when it comes to democracy, you're always ready for a little puppet show.
