Who says crime doesn't pay? Certainly not Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who, after being mistakenly deported, has made a triumphant return to the land of the free to face charges of moving migrants like they're pieces on a Monopoly board.
First, they send him packing on a one-way ticket out of the country, only to realize their blunder and have to invite him back with a red carpet and a "Welcome Back, Trafficker" banner. Talk about your tax dollars at work, folks! Now, instead of sipping margaritas on some tropical beach, he's here, ready to face the music-or rather, the cacophony of legal woes.
But let's not forget the irony: Garcia is accused of transporting "thousands" of migrants. Apparently, his deportation was just a little vacation, a break from his busy schedule of human smuggling. One can only imagine his relief at being back in the U.S., where he can continue his work with the efficiency of a seasoned travel agent.
And what of the poor souls he allegedly helped? Perhaps they're thanking him for his "assistance" by sending postcards from their new homes, where they're undoubtedly enjoying the fruits of Garcia's labor-after all, they say you can't put a price on freedom.
