No Kings Protests: Where the Crowd Was Larger Than the City Itself

In a stunning feat of human engineering, the No Kings protests this past weekend reportedly packed in more people than there are rooms in New York City. And you thought the subway at rush hour was bad! By the sheer force of will or perhaps inflated ego, between 4 and 6 million participants turned up. Or so they claim.
Now, let's do the math. At this rate, you'd need at least half of America's population to make such a claim plausible, which last I checked, would mean every man, woman, child, and their pets were marching down the streets with signs. Ah, the power of the press, inflating numbers like they do the egos of Hollywood starlets.
But why stop at mere numbers? Organizers have declared this the 'turning point' in American history. Of course, it's not like history is replete with turning points; it's more like a carousel spinning endlessly. Maybe they're onto something - maybe we'll actually turn into a new direction, or perhaps we'll just keep going in circles, only with more noise. Here's hoping for the spectacle, if not the substance.
